Aviva To Cut 1,800 Roles

Insurer Aviva has announced it intends to cut 1,800 job roles over the next three years as it works to reduce expenses.

The role reductions are out of a workforce of around 30,000 and the company said it hopes to keep redundancies to a minimum.

The firm will host a presentation for analysts and investors today, Thursday 06 June, to set out plans to reduce expenses by £300 million per year by 2022.

As well as workforce reductions, cost savings will be achieved through lower central costs, savings in contractor and consultant spend, reduction in project expenditure and other areas.

Aviva said it has engaged with Unite and other employee representatives bodies and will continue to consult on specific proposals.
