Man Arrested In Connection With Donegal Gorse Fires

A man has been arrested in connection with the outbreak of a gorse fire in County Donegal on Good Friday.

The fire caused considerable damage to a house in the Drumnacart and Annagry area as well as damaging a tractor and other items on the properties.

A man has been detained under the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Milford Garda Station and has since been released without charge.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
