Witnesses Sought To Fatal Collision In Co Galway
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Co Galway.
A man, aged in his 70s, died when the car he was driving hit a wall on the Ballinasloe to Laurencetown Road at Sycamore Hill at approximately 8.30pm last night, Tuesday 20 February.
The man's body was taken to University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem will take place.
The road was closed to allow for a forensic examination.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Ballinasloe Garda Station on 090-9631890, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 66 111 or any Garda Station.

The incident occurred on the Loughrea to Killimor Road (N65) about three miles outside Killimor at around 2.45am on Thursday, 28 July. A 26-year-old man was seriously injured when the car he was travelling in collided with a concrete barrier.

Gardaí are appealing to witnesses of a fatal road accident in Galway on Tuesday night. A 60-year-old man died after his car hit a wall in the Liosban Industrial Estate at about 22:00. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. The victim was pronounced dead at University College Hospital Galway.
