Witnesses Sought To Fatal Collision In Co Galway

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Co Galway.

A man, aged in his 70s, died when the car he was driving hit a wall on the Ballinasloe to Laurencetown Road at Sycamore Hill at approximately 8.30pm last night, Tuesday 20 February.

The man's body was taken to University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem will take place.

The road was closed to allow for a forensic examination.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Ballinasloe Garda Station on 090-9631890, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 66 111 or any Garda Station.

A 26-year-old man was seriously injured when the car he was travelling in collided with a concrete barrier.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Galway Accident
Gardaí are appealing to witnesses of a fatal road accident in Galway on Tuesday night. A 60-year-old man died after his car hit a wall in the Liosban Industrial Estate at about 22:00. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. The victim was pronounced dead at University College Hospital Galway.
