Supermac's To Create 300 Jobs With Hotel & Restaurant Developments

Fast-food chain Supermac's is set to create 300 new jobs as it opens three new restaurants.

The company has also announced the redevelopment and refurbishment of three hotels; the Killeshin Hotel, Castle Oaks House Hotel and Athlone Springs Hotel.

The company's chief executive, Pat McDonagh, owns the establishments which will see 100 new job vacancies created.

200 staff will also be taken on in fast-food outlets in Wexford, Waterford and Kinegad, where construction has already begun.

Meanwhile, a further 300 jobs are also in the pipeline in Letterkenny, Longford, Ennis and Portlaoise but are subject to planning permission.

Mr McDonagh also announced his intentions to spend a further €1 million to €2m on modernisation of the Killeshin.

Centra To Create 300 New Jobs
Centra has said it is to expand its networks of stores in Ireland, and create 300 new jobs by the end of 2014. The news comes after the retailer confirmed it had spent €241.1m in local communities around its 460 stores in 2013. Currently, Centra employs 11,280 people across its network of stores, which more than 5,000 being full-time positions.

DPD Ireland To Create 120 New Jobs In Athlone
DPD Ireland have announced the creation of 120 new jobs at its distribution centre in Athlone. The parcel delivery firm is creating the jobs with a €2 million investment in expanding its central sorting hub. The Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys announced the new jobs today at the DPD hub in Athlone.

100 New Jobs Announced In Ennis
One hundred new jobs are to be created by specialist healthcare recruitment firm TTM Healthcare, as part of a €5m investment. The jobs will be created over the next three years with the majority being based at the firm's Ennis headquarters. However, some staff will also be sought in Dublin and Cork.
