Two Arrested After Overnight Burglaries In Two Counties
Gardaí have arrested two men following a number of overnight burglaries at business premises in County Wicklow and County Wexford.
Shortly after 2am on Tuesday morning, 05 February, a number of men were reported to have forced entry into a filling station in Gorey Town.
A haul of cigarettes and a sum of cash were taken.
A short time later, convenience stores in the villages of Redcross and Rathnew were burgled along with a phone shop in Wicklow town.
Cash, cigarettes and mobile phones were taken during the later raids.
A car was then intercepted as part of a follow up operation in the Bawnogue area of west Dublin.
Two men, both aged in their 20's, were arrested at the scene following a short chase on foot.
Both suspects were taken to Wicklow Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The car involved in the incident has been seized for forensic examination. A large quantity of cigarettes along with phones, sim cards and other property were recovered by investigating Gardaí.
The investigation is ongoing.

Probe Launched Into Ennis Blaze
Gardaí are investigating a fire at a house in Ennis, Co Clare. Fire crews were called to a house on St Anne's Terrace on Clonroad shortly after midnight, following reports of a car fire. However, when they arrived they also discovered a blaze at the back of the house.

Motorcyclist Dies Following Crash
A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a car in Tullamore, Co Offaly, on Thursday. The female who was driving the car is currently being treated at the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore. Gardai are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

A man has died following a road collision in Galway. The incident happened at Glenascaul in Oranmore around 1:30pm on Thursday. It is understood that the car the man was travelling in collided with a tractor.

Man Killed In Wicklow Crash
A man has died following a road collision in County Wicklow. Aged in his 40s, the man was walking near a restaurant in Laragh shortly after 2am on Sunday 07 April when he was struck by a car. The driver was uninjured. Police are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity at the time or who has dash cam footage of the collision to contact them.
