Probe Launched Into Ennis Blaze
Gardaí are investigating a fire at a house in Ennis, Co Clare.
Fire crews were called to a house on St Anne's Terrace on Clonroad shortly after midnight, following reports of a car fire.
However, when they arrived they also discovered a blaze at the back of the house.
Residents in four other houses had to be evacuated due to smoke from the fire, but no-one was injured in the incident.
It is understood that the house where the fire started was unoccupied, while the car parked outside was destroyed by the fire.
The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination.
Gardaí are treating the fire as malicious.

Three Die In Separate House Fires
Two men and a woman have died in three separate house fires in Limerick and Kerry. In the latest incident, a man in his 60s died following a house fire in Tralee in Co Kerry. Woman Charged Over Suspicious House Fire
A woman has been charged in relation to a suspicious house fire in Co Louth last year. Following an investigation into the blaze, which occurred at Cork Street in Drogheda on 16 August last year, gardaí confirmed a 27-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the incident. A woman, aged 73, was seriously injured in the fire in 2014.

Dublin Fire Brigade has revealed it responded to 1,100 emergency calls during Halloween night. On what is normally the service's busiest night of the year, there were also reports of attacks on fire crews while Dublin Bus was forced to withdraw its service in part of the city.

Mountjoy Prison Cell Fire
A fire broke out in a cell at Dublin's Mountjoy Prison on Thursday night, according to reports. It is understood that a prisoner had set fire to a cell. However, it is believed that prison staff and fire crews were able to contain the fire quickly. No-one was injured in the incident.
