INTO To Meet To Discuss Ballot On Industrial Action

The Irish National Teachers' Organisation (INTO) executive committee is to meet next week to conduct talks about holding a ballot on industrial action.

Members rejected a Government pay offer for new entrants to the profession since 2011.

In a statement, INTO said: "Today's vote demonstrates the commitment of our membership to secure full equality and to reject anything less. The proposed agreement left several new entrant cohorts from 2011 onwards paid less than their colleagues and the membership has sought to stand in unity with their colleagues in demanding full restoration."
