Man Dies Following Two-Car Collision On M8 Motorway
A man in his 70s has died following a two-vehicle road crash on the M8 Motorway in Co Tipperary.
The incident occurred near Cahir at around 9pm on Monday, 05 February.
The victim was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a second car. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH),
The driver of the second car was also taken to CUH with injuries described as minor.
The M8 between J11 and J12 south bound is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
Gardai are asking any witnesses to contact Cahir Garda Station on 052 7445630, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Man Dies In Shooting Incident

Man Arrested Following Fatal Stabbing
A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Dublin on Monday. Shane O'Connor was found on the street in Donaghmede at around 7am. He later died in hospital. A man is his 20s is being held at Coolock garda station.

Man Arrested Following Fatal Crash In Kilkenny
A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal road crash in Co Kilkenny. A man died in the collision, which happened at around 1am on the westbound carriage of the N24 Piltown bypass. The second car involved failed to remain at the scene. A 53-year-old man is currently being detained at Thomastown Garda Station.
