Two Charged Over Aggravated Burglary In Clonmell
Two men have been charged in connection with an aggravated burglary in Clonmell on Sunday, 17 December.
The burglary occurred at a house in Highfield Grove, Clonmel at approximately 3am. The two men entered the house armed with weapons and assaulted two men (60s & late teens) and a woman (60s). The two injured men were brought to South Tipperary General Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The woman was uninjured.
After Gardaí were alerted to the incident, a number of searches were conducted in the Clonmel area. Two men (40s & late teens) were arrested and detained at Clonmel Garda Station.
They have since been charged and are due to appear before Clonmel District Court today charged in connection with the incident.

On-Duty Firefighter Arrested On Suspicion Of Drink Driving
A fireman has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving while on duty behind the wheel of a fire engine. The man was driving a fire truck on the Callan Road, Kilkenny over the weekend and approached a checkpoint. It is believed he was returning from an emergency incident and failed a breath test. He was issued a fixed charged penalty notice.

Man Due In Court Over Clonmel Death
A 28-year-old man is due to appear before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court, charged in connection with the death of a 45-year-old man whose body was found in a house in the town at the weekend. The man's body was found in an upstairs bedroom of a house in the Carrigeen estate shortly after 2:30am on Sunday.

Three men arrested yesterday following an incident at a halting site in Waterford have been brought to court. The three men were arrested on public order offences and two of the men have been charged with threatening and abusive behaviour. The other man has been charged with trespass.
