Irish Person Injured In Westminster Terror Attack

An Irish person was among those injured in the Westminster terror attack, the Prime Minister has confirmed.

Three people were killed and dozens have been injured following the attack on Westminster Bridge on Wednesday, 22 March.

A police officer was fatally stabbed at the Houses of Parliament.

Theresa May confirmed those injured included 12 Britons, three French children, two Romanians, four South Koreans, two Greeks, and one each from Germany, Poland, Ireland, China, Italy and the United States.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs & Trade, Charlie Flanagan TD, said that his Department has, through the Irish Embassy in London, offered and stands ready to provide consular assistance.

Man Seriously Injured Following Gun Attack In Bray
A man has been seriously injured following a shooting in Bray, County Wicklow. The 39-year-old received wounds to his upper body after shots were fired through the window of a property in the Heatherwood Estate in the early hours of Thursday morning. He is in a serious condition in St Vincent's Hospital.

Man Injured In Gun Attack
A man, 21, has been shot in Dublin in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The attack happened at Slieve Bloom Park in Driminagh at around 5.10am. The man is being treated for injuries to his leg at St James' Hospital. Gardai are appealing to witnesses to contact them.

Man Injured In Dublin Attack
A man has been injured in a serious attack in Dublin. It happened in Kearn's Place at around 2am this morning. The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was slashed across the face. He is currently at St James's Hospital, where his injuries are being described as "superficial".

Days after an Irish soldier was injured following an explosion in Afghanistan, a colleague in the British army has been killed in a separate incident. The soldier who died was a member of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME), on attachment to the Parachute Regiment.
