Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Co Monaghan

A 74-year-old male pedestrian has been seriously injured in a crash in Co Monaghan.

The man was hit by a car on the road at Bough, close to Scotstown, on Monday, 09 January.

He is believed to be in a critical condition at Cavan General Hospital.

The driver of the car was not injured.

Traffic diversions have been put in place and forensic investigators are at the scene.

Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Teen Killed In Road Crash
A teenager has been killed after the car he was driving crashed in County Monaghan. The car went out of control at a bend on the Castleblayney to Dundalk road at around 5.15am this morning. The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. A female passenger was also injured, however they are not believed to be life-threatening.

Man Seriously Injured In Dublin Crash
A man has been seriously injured following a crash in Dublin. The collision, which involved a cyclist and a car, occurred at around 5.30pm on the N81/Tallaght Bypass on Sunday. The man was taken to hospital and is believed to be in a serious condition. One man has been arrested.

Man, 49, Injured In Sligo Assault
A man has been injured during an assault, after a dispute in County Sligo last night. Gardai in Sligo said they are investigating the "serious assault", which occurred at a walkway connecting Stevens Street car park and Rockwood Parade last night. The injured man was found lying near the walkway and the Garavogue River at about 9pm.

Woman Seriously Injured In Three-Car Accident
A woman has been seriously injured following a three-car collision on the N4 Dublin/Sligo Road. The crash occurred on the Edgeworth Road at approximately 5.30pm on Wednesday (7 January). The woman is currently being treated at Midland Regional Hospital. The main Dublin/Sligo Road has been closed and diversions are in place.

Limerick Crash - One Killed
A man who was killed in a road accident in Co Limerick on Monday has been named. Mark Ryan, 20, from Bawnreagh in Askeaton was killed when the car he was driving collided with a lorry on the N69, near Kildimo, around 10 miles from Limerick city, shortly before 4pm on Monday.
