Detector Dog Helps Seizes Cigarettes And Cash
Cigarettes, tobacco, cars and cash have been seized on the Northside of Cork City in an operation launched by Revenue.
It is understood that approximately 10,000 'Jin Lin', 'Winston' and 'Marlboro Gold'-branded cigarettes and the 'Eastenders'-branded rolling tobacco were uncovered by detector dog, Harvey.
The operation also seized two cars and €7,000 in cash.
Two men were detained during the operation and are continuing to be questioned.
Amounts of cannabis were also found in two of the searches, which Gardaí from Gurranabraherand Watercourse Road are investigating.

A revenue operation in Cork has resulted in over 65,000 unstamped cigarettes being taken out of circulation and €1,350 cash seized. The intelligence led operation was carried out in a residential part of the city on Thursday 15 August. A man was later questioned as a result.

Revenue officers have seized alcohol, cigarettes, cash and a vehicle during an operation in County Cork. During the search of a house near Macroom, Co. Cork, Revenue, assisted by detector dog Harvey, seized a total of 315 litres of alcohol in various stages of production along with the production apparatus, tanks and containers.

Gardaí have seized a car after it was discovered that its battery had been "relocated" to its boot and held in place with cable ties. The seizure was made by officers from Operation CURB (Changing Your Road Behaviour) in an overnight operation on March 06 and 07.

Revenue officers seized two dogs, a quantity of cash and thousands of unstamped cigarettes during separate operations across the country on Tuesday 05 November. Routine profiling led to the discovery of over €27,000 in the luggage of an Irish national travelling from Shannon to Malaga.
