66-Year-Old Man Killed In Road Accident In Co Kildare

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Co Kildare.

A 66-year-old man was fatally injured when a car he was driving collided with a truck at around 2.45pm at Kilmurray, Johnstown Bridge on Thursday, 10 November.

The 66-year-old driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to Blanchardstown Hospital. The deceased man was removed to Naas Hospital mortuary.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, particularly those travelling from Johnstown Bridge to Kilshanroe, to contact them at Kilcock Garda Station on 01 - 6757390, the Garda confidential Line on 1800 666111 or any Garda station.

Elderly Man Arrested After Fatal Shooting In Mayo
An elderly man has been arrested after a man in his 60s was shot dead in County Mayo. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene in Aghamore, Ballyhaunis shortly before midnight on Tuesday, 17 September. It is understood the elderly man heard noises outside his property before the shots were fired.

Man Questioned Over Fatal Road Crash In Co Mayo
Garda have detained a man in connection with a fatal road crash in Co Mayo on Sunday, 08 May. A 41-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his bike collided with a van on the N26 at Ballinahaglush at around 3.45pm. A man was arrested and is being detained at Ballina Garda Station.

Garda Injured In Cork
A garda has been injured while on duty in Cork on Monday night. The sergeant has been treated in hospital but has been discharged. He was bringing a patient, aged in his 20s, to the Mercy University Hospital just after 6pm. The garda is based at Gurranabraher Garda Station.

Gardaí Appeal For Information Over Crashes
After two fatal road collisions in Wicklow and Dublin, Gardaí have launched appeals seeking information in connection with the incidents. Officers at Rathfarnham Garda station want witnesses to an incident on Ballycullen Drive, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16, which occurred between 1.30am and 2.30am in the early hours of Thursday morning to contact them.

Men Arrested Following Two Violent Incidents In Athlone
Three men have been arrested in connection with violent incidents in Athlone, Westmeath on Tuesday. In the first incident, a taxi driver, aged in his 70s, was attacked by two male passengers he had picked up on Church Street and driven to Bloomfield Drive. The driver suffered a number of stab wounds during the incident.
