Witness Appeal Following Fatal Road Collision In Co Meath

Gardaí in Co Meath have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision near Dunboyne on Tuesday afternoon.

A 91-year-old man was seriously injured when the car he was driving collided with a lorry at about 1pm on Tuesday, 23 August, at Pace, near Dunboyne.

The elderly man was pronounced dead at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown.

It is understood the lorry driver suffered minor injuries in the collision.

The road was closed for a number of hours following the collision but has since reopened.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Ashbourne Garda Station on 01-8010600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111 or any garda station.

Four Men Dead In Separate Collisions
A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

Witness Appeal After Fatal Road Crash In Naas
Gardaí in Naas, Co Kildare, have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road collision shortly before 6am on Wednesday, 27 April. A man, aged in his 30s, died when the car he was driving left the road at Allenwood South. The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions have been put in place.

Witness Appeal Over Fatal Collision In Wexford
Gardai in Wexford have issued an appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the Whitemill Road at approximately 12:30am on Thursday, 15 February. A male in his 20s was fatally injured when the car he was driving lost control and collided with a barrier.

Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.

Witness Appeal Following Fatal Road Collision
Gardaí in Mullingar have appealed for witnesses of a fatal road traffic accident on Thursday, 17 September. A man, aged in his 40s, was fatally injured when the truck he was driving left the road at approximately 12:30. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Mullingar Regional Hospital.
