Cannabis Seized At Portlaoise Mail Centre

A quantity of herbal cannabis has been seized by Revenue Officers at Portlaoise Mail Centre.

Approximately 18kg of the drug, worth an estimated €360,000, was discovered when a Revenue detector dog indicated on three parcels which had been sent from South Africa and Nigeria to addresses in Dublin City.

An investigation into the find is ongoing and no arrests have been made.

€100k Cannabis Seized At Dublin Mail Centre
Revenue officers have seized 5kg of herbal cannabis worth an estimated €100,000 at the Dublin Mail Centre. The drugs were found today, Thursday 18 April, with the assistance of Revenue detector dog Bailey. They were concealed in seven different parcels labelled as 'diaries', 'kitchen tools', 'USB fan', 'toys' and 'car air fresheners'.

Herbal Cannabis Seized At Portlaoise Mail Centre
Herbal cannabis worth an estimated €150,000 has been seized by Revenue officers at Portlaoise Mail Centre. Following routine profiling, and with the assistance of Revenue's detector dog team, 7.5kg of herbal cannabis was found concealed in parcels from Nigeria, addressed to a location in Dublin.

Parcels Containing €142k Cannabis Intercepted At Portlaoise Mail Centre
Revenue officers at Portlaoise Mail centre have seized herbal cannabis with a street value of around €142,000 as a result of routine profiling. The 7.1kg of illegal drugs were concealed in two parcels, sent from the USA and Canada, destined for two separate addresses in Dublin City Centre.
