Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Serious Hit-And-Run Incident

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a serious hit and run incident in Dublin on Saturday, 09 July.

The incident occurred at around 12.45am when what has been described as a black Volvo S.40 model, 07 D registration, came down the Strand Road in the direction of Main Street, Baldoyle and struck a 26-year-old male cyclist.

The man was knocked to the ground and suffered serious leg injuries. He was removed to Beaumont Hospital where he continues to be treated.

The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene.

The suspect car travelled along Strand Road, Baldoyle onto Main Street, before turning left onto Moyne Road and left again into the Castlemoyne Estate, where the car was found abandoned.

The vehicle's two front tyres had blown out and the car was being driven on rims at the time, garda have said.

Man Arrested Over Dublin Body Find
