Euro 2016: Ireland Through To Final 16

The Republic of Ireland are in the last 16 of Euro 2016 after beating Italy 1-0 on Wednesday night, 22 June.

Robbie Brady scored the winning goal for the team in the 84th minute.

Manager Martin O'Neill punched the air as soon as the goal was scored.

Ireland will now play France in Lyon at 2pm on Sunday, 26 June.

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill said: "The results tonight put us in what is arguably the more favourable side of the draw, so we are pleased about that.

"We are in no doubt that it is going to be a tough game against Wales but we will go into the match believing that we can win and that we can progress."
