Witnesses Sought To Fatal Road Collision In Co Wexford

Gardaí in Co Wexford have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision at Ballycanew in the early hours of this morning, Thursday.

A 21-year-old man was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a truck at about 05:25 on the Ballycanew to Wexford road, around one mile outside Ballycanew.

The man's body has been removed to Wexford General Hospital.

The driver of the truck, a 29-year-old man, was uninjured in the collision. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

The road is closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and local diversions in place.

Four Men Dead In Separate Collisions
A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

Man Arrested Over Wexford Hit And Run
A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with a hit and run incident that caused the death of a young Wexford student. Gardai investigating the fatal road traffic collision, which took place at Gorey, in County Wexford, on Sunday the 24th of October said they arrested a man yesterday afternoon.

Witnesses Sought To Fatal Co Wexford Road Accident
Garda in Wexford have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident on Tuesday evening. A man in his 60s has died in the single vehicle collision at Clone, Ferns at about 6:20pm last night. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The scene remains closed pending a forensic examination.

Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.

Gardaí Locate Body Of Karl O'Toole
Gardaí have located the body of 30-year-old Karl O'Toole. He has been missing from Enniscorthy, County Wexford since 23 May 2015. Garda confrimed that his body has been located. No further action is being taken.
