Witnesses Sought To Fatal Road Collision In Cork

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision on the Cork to Ballincollig Road on Tuesday, 17 May.

A man, aged in his 20s, was killed when two cars collided on the R618 at about 8:30pm yesterday.

Another man, understood to be the driver of one of the cars, is in a critical condition in Cork University Hospital (CUH).

Four other men, said to be travelling in one car, and two women, from the second vehicle, are also being treated at CUH for non-life threatening injuries.

It is understood that a forensic examination of the scene will continue this morning, with the road not expected to re-open until later today, 18 May.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact garda.

Gardaí in County Cork are appealing for help in finding a man missing from the area. 56-year-old Peter Oliver has not been seen since Monday 14 December, when he is believed to have been in the Skibbereen area. He is described as being five foot seven inches tall, of medium build with grey hair and brown eyes.

Four Men Dead In Separate Collisions
A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. Appeal For Witnesses Following Fatal Road Accident
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following a fatal road traffic accident in County Waterford on Wednesday, 09 September. A man in his 50s was seriously injured when his motorcycle hit a wall on the R448, near Waterford City, at about 17:15. He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford where he was pronounced dead.

A man has died in a road crash in Co Monaghan, gardaí have reported. According to gardaí the man in his 20s died in a two-car collision on the N2 Dublin-Monaghan, south of Carrickmacross. It is understood the victim was the driver of the one of the cars involved in the accident.

The PSNI have appealed for information after a man died in a two-car collision in Londonderry. A black Skoda Octavia and black Ford Puma were involved in the incident, which was reported to police around 6.45pm on Tuesday.
