Herbal Cannabis Worth Over €200,000 Seized In Roscrea

Herbal cannabis worth more than €200,000 has been seized by Revenue operations in Roscrea, Co Tipperary.

In an intelligence-lead operation on Friday 08 April, Revenue officers, the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, and the Roscrea Divisional Drugs Unit, intercepted a package at an address in Roscrea that contained herbal cannabis worth an estimated €140,000.

Three Lithuanian men, aged between 19 and 24, were arrested at the scene under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

In a follow-up search, a further 5 kg of herbal cannabis was uncovered, bringing the total value of the seized product to €240,000.

Revenue said their investigations are on-going with a view to prosecution.

Cannabis Worth €94,000 Seized In Galway
Herbal cannabis worth an estimated €94,000 has been seized during a joint Revenue Customs Service and Garda operation in Galway. Approximately 4.7kgs of herbal cannabis was seized during the search of a house in Knocknacarra. It is believed the drugs had originated in Cotonou, Benin in West Africa and were concealed in dried fish.

Herbal Cannabis Worth Estimated €90,000 Seized In Co Louth
Revenue officers have seized herbal cannabis worth an estimated €90,000 in Dundalk, Co Louth. The drugs were discovered concealed inside blankets which had arrived in Ireland in a package sent from Canada.

Revenue Make Significant Seizures In Dublin & Portlaoise
Revenue officers in Dublin and Portlaoise have seized herbal cannabis, tobacco, cigarettes and cash in multiple recent operations. In the first incident at Dublin Port on Thursday 06 June, 25kg of herbal cannabis was discovered when officers stopped and searched a shipment from Almería, Spain.
