Witnesses Sought Over Fatal Road Accident In Castletroy
Gardaí in Limerick have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident on the Old Dublin Road, Castletroy, Co Limerick.
A female pedestrian in her late 80s was fatally injured when she was struck by a jeep in a car park at approximately 10.15am. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to Limerick University Hospital. The driver of the jeep was uninjured.
The scene was preserved for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Witnesses are asked to contact Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212400, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Gardaí in Co Limerick have reported the death of a 28-year-old man in a road crash on Thursday afternoon. It is understood the man died after his car collided with a truck at Cooga Cross on the Doon to Cappamore Road at about 15:30. A post-mortem is due to be carried out today at Limerick Regional Hospital.

Garda have detained a man in connection with a fatal road crash in Co Mayo on Sunday, 08 May. A 41-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his bike collided with a van on the N26 at Ballinahaglush at around 3.45pm. A man was arrested and is being detained at Ballina Garda Station.

A 39-year-old female pedestrian died after being struck by a van on the Moynead Cross to Shanballyduff Cross Road at about 16:10. It is understood the driver of the van, a 55-year-old man, was uninjured.
