Man Arrested In Connection With 2012 Co Donegal Death

Gardaí investigating the murder of Seamus Doherty in Co Donegal in June 2012, have arrested a 52-year-old man.

Mr Doherty's body was discovered at a house in Drumacnoo, near the village of Churchill, just before 2am on 17 June, 2012.

A man was arrested in connection with the investigation on Wednesday night in Raphoe, Co Donegal.

He is expected to appear before Buncrana District Court today (Thursday).

Gardaí said that their investigations are continuing.

Woman Released Without Charge Over Donegal Murder
A woman arrested in connection with the murder of Seamus Donnelly has been released without charge. Mr Doherty was killed at his home in Drumacanoo on 17 June 2012. The woman, 57, was released this morning. A man, 51, who was arrested on Wednesday is still being questioned by garda.

Man Arrested In Connection With Aggravated Burglary In Co Donegal
A man has been arrested in connection with the aggravated burglary at a pensioners home in Co Donegal at the weekend. The 48-year-old male is currently being detained at Buncrana Garda station. Margaret 'Greta' Lily was punched and had money taken from her during the burglary at her house in Aghilly.

24-Year-Old Arrested In Connection With Donegal Burglary
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a burglary of an elderly woman’s home. The break-in happened around 03.45 on Friday morning at a home in Kilmacrennan, Co Donegal. The pensioner was alone in the house when a man forced his way into her bedroom, threatening her and demanding cash.

Sinn Féin Call On Govt To Offer Free Schoolbooks Scheme
The government have been urged to create a free schoolbook loan scheme in an effort to ease the financial burden on families preparing for their children's return to school. Sinn Féin’s finance spokesperson, Pearse Doherty TD, made the call saying that it was time the government "recognised the hardship that buying schoolbooks is causing.
