Man Arrested In Connection With Greystones Shooting

A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Greystones on Saturday, 12 December.

Shots were fired during an incident involving a number of males at Farrankelly Road, Greystones at approximately 11.10am. Two shots struck the car of a passing motorist during the incident. The motorist and his passenger escaped injury. Those directly involved in the incident fled the scene on foot and by car before the arrival of Gardaí.

The suspect is currently being detained at Bray Garda station under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended.

Garda also renewed their appeal for anyone who was in the Farrankelly area of Greystones between 10.00am and 12 midday on 12/12/15 and may have seen an 08 Audi A4 saloon or white/off white Transit Van to contact them on 01-6665300, the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Elderly Man Arrested After Fatal Shooting In Mayo
An elderly man has been arrested after a man in his 60s was shot dead in County Mayo. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene in Aghamore, Ballyhaunis shortly before midnight on Tuesday, 17 September. It is understood the elderly man heard noises outside his property before the shots were fired.

Arrest As Guns Seized In Co Monaghan
Gardaí have arrested one man and seized four firearms in Co Monaghan. The Roads Policing Unit discovered the guns when a vehicle was stopped during speed checks on the N2. A roadside drugs test was carried out on the driver before a follow-up search of the car uncovered four loaded pistols and ammunition.

Man Fatally Stabbed In Caherciveen, Kerry
An investigation has been launched into a fatal stabbing incident in Caherciveen, Kerry. A 33-year-old man suffered serious stab wounds in an incident at Fertha Drive in the early hours of Wednesday morning. He was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Kerry.
