More Than 100 Jobs Available At LinkedIn In Dublin

Internet firm LinkedIn has announced it is to employ another 100 workers in Dublin.

The firm now employs 900 people, an increase of 300 over the past twelve months, with more than 100 additional open positions available at present.

The open roles include sales managers, insight analysts, applied scientists, HR managers and finance managers.

LinkedIn also announced that the next phase of construction has commenced on its international headquarters in Dublin. The site is being developed on 17,507sq m and 700 construction jobs are involved over the course of the project, which is expected to be completed at the beginning of 2017.

An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD said: "It is a fantastic endorsement for Ireland that one of the leading internet companies in the world has selected Dublin as the location for its international headquarters. In a short space of time, LinkedIn has become a major employer in Ireland and continues to grow. The calibre of people employed by LinkedIn reflects the quality of the Irish workforce and is another reason why Ireland is seen as a global centre for technology and internationalisation. The Government plans to keep the recovery going by keeping Ireland competitive for new investment and jobs."

Irish Game Stores Unaffected By Rescue Deal

Galway Firm To Create 100 New Jobs
A shed manufacturing company is to create 100 new jobs in Tuam, Co Galway. Steeltech Sheds is to relocate its business from Headford Road in Galway to the former Coca-Cola factory in Tuam and will recruit new staff between now and 2017. The company currently employs 100 staff at bases in Cork, Dublin, Carlow and Athlone.

Shelved Dart Plan Wins Planning Approval
The proposed Dart Underground project, which was controversially shelved by the Government earlier this month, has won planning permission from Dublin authorities. The Dart Underground was planned to run from Docklands to Inchicore, and increase the capacity of the Greater Dublin area's rail service to 100 million passenger journeys per annum.
