Two Men In Court In Connection With Death Of Christopher Nevin

Two men are due to appear in court this morning (Wednesday) charged in connection with the investigation into the death Christopher Nevin.

Mr Nevin died following an incident in Navan on 19 November.

The men were arrested on Monday in the Navan area and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Navan Garda Station.

New Legal Dispute Over Assets In Nevin Case
The High Court has reopened a legal dispute to rule if convicted murder Catherine Nevin is entitled to assets held jointly with her husband Tom Nevin. The 61-year-old is currently serving a life sentence for her husband's murder, after being convicted by a jury in 2000.

Catherine Nevin Dies Aged 67
Convicted murderer Catherine Nevin has died at the age of 67. Nevin, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2016, was serving life for organising the murder of her husband Tom at their pub in Co Wicklow. He was fatally shot at Jack White's Inn in 1996. She became known as the 'Black Widow' during the trial.

Olympic boxer John Joe Nevin has been left with two broken legs following an assault in Mullingar on Saturday. It has been reported that a scan on Tuesday revealed the silver medalist's left leg was broken just above the ankle.

Three Labour TDs Resign Over Leadership Concerns
Three Labour party TDs have resigned from the party, all citing a lack of confidence in the party leadership. Patrick Nulty, a Dublin West TD, formally left the party this morning. He had previously been expelled from the Parliamentary Labour Party in December 2011, just six weeks after becoming a councillor, for voting against the budget.

Nevin Secures Ireland's First Medal
Irish boxer John Joe Nevin scooped Ireland's first medal at the London Olympics. The Cavan man has secured at least a bronze medal after winning against Oscar Valdez Fierro on Sunday night. Nevin won 19-13 and is now two fights away from an Olympic gold. Nevin told reporters: "It means a lot to me, but hopefully I can turn it into gold.
