Olympic Boxer John Joe Nevin Suffers Two Broken Legs In Assault

Olympic boxer John Joe Nevin has been left with two broken legs following an assault in Mullingar on Saturday.

It has been reported that a scan on Tuesday revealed the silver medalist's left leg was broken just above the ankle. It was known that Mr Nevin's right leg had been broken in two places during the attack at Ardleigh Crescent, when the professional boxer was beaten with a golf club.

Mr Nevin's left leg was put in a cast immediately after the break was discovered, but his right leg cannot be cast until swelling has reduced.

It is understood that the boxer will be confined to a wheelchair for several weeks.
