Garda Killer Cremated After Secret Funeral

Adrian Crevan Mackin, the man who shot and killed Garda Anthony Golden before killing himself, has been cremated following a "secret funeral" in Belfast.

According to a report by the Irish Independent, an undertaker from Mackin's home town of Newry agreed to handle the funeral, which last less than half an hour and was attended by "just a handful of acquaintances".

It is understood that a number of funeral directors had refused to handle Mackin's remains, which lay unclaimed in a hospital.

Mackin was facing a number of terrorism-related charges when he killed Garda Golden.
