Witnesses Sought To Cash-In-Transit Van Robbery

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a cash-in-transit van robbery in Navan on Tuesday, 25 August.

At approximately 15.09 yesterday a cash delivery van pulled into the forecourt of the Maxol service station, Dublin Road, Navan and parked beside the ATM machine.  As one of the cash in transit workers was leaving the vehicle he was confronted and threatened by a lone male. The male was dressed in black with his face covered by a balaclava and had his hood up.

The offender took a money box and got into a green Honda CRV Jeep, registration 01 SO 1627, which drove off on the Dublin road towards Navan town. There was no one injured during the incident.

The Honda CRV was subsequently located burnt out in the Woodview Court area of Navan. The empty money box was later found at the Bealing Walk area of Blanchardstown, Dublin.

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to this incident or to anyone who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious at the Service Station in Navan, at the Woodview Court area of Navan, at the Bealing Walk area of Blanchardstown, Dublin or the movement of this Honda CRV to contact Navan Garda Station on 046- 9036100, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Man Dies In Navan Garda Station
An investigation has been launched into the death of a man at Navan Garda Station in Co Meath on Thursday night. The 52-year-old, who was arrested yesterday for a public order offence, was found lying on the floor of a cell shortly after 10pm. Garda Ombudsman Seeks Witnesses To Road Crash
The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission has made a new appeal for witnesses to a road crash in which a 77-year-old woman died on Friday. Clare Barr, from the Navan Road in Dublin, died after she was struck by a car on the Dublin-bound carriageway of the Navan Road, Dublin 7, around 2pm on Friday.

Investigation Launched Into Armed Robbery In Co Meath
An investigation has been launched following an armed robbery at a shop in Kildalkey, Co Meath At approximately 17:45 on Thursday, two males entered a shop armed with a hand gun and an iron bar. They threatened staff and removed an amount of cash before leaving the store. It is understood they were driven from the scene in a waiting car.
