Labour Welcomes Publication Of The Kelly Report

The publication of the 'Kelly Report' has been welcomed by the Labour party.

The report was commissioned by the Education Minister, Jan O'Sullivan, to reinvigorate the Technological University for the South East project.

Labour TD for Waterford Ciara Conway said: "I wholeheartedly welcome the publication of Michael Kelly's report and I am particularly encouraged by the fact that he believes a technological university is achievable, and that it is reasonable to expect that we could have a T.U. in three year’s time - if all parties are willing to co-operate."

"A lot of work and consultation has gone into this report. It doesn’t pull punches- there are criticisms here levelled at both institutions, but I think it's fair and balanced in this regard. What's very clear from the consultation with stakeholders is that everybody wants to see a University become a reality, particularly students, politicians and people in industry."
