Taoiseach To Meet With British PM

Taoiseach Enda Kenny is in London to meet with British Prime Minister David Cameron.

The Taoiseach attended a commemorative banquet at the City of London’s Guildhall to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo, to highlight the role played by Irishmen at that major battle.

Mr Kenny is also due to visit the Irish Women Survivors Support Network at Whispering Hope Centre in Kentish Town, which provides advice, support and information to all Survivors of Irish institutional care, including the Magdalene Laundries.

The Taoiseach’s bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Cameron is the third annual summit to review progress since the Joint Statement signed by the Taoiseach and Prime Minister in March 2012, which set out ambitious plans for the development of British-Irish relations in a range of key areas over the next decade.

They will have a discussion on bilateral relations including economic issues and on the current situation in Northern Ireland including on a number of legacy issues.
