Man And Woman Killed In Separate Road Accidents

two people have died in separate road accidents in Co Wexford and Co Kilkenny, according to Garda.

A female pedestrian died after being hit by a car on the Wexford to Rosslare Road at about 01:30am.

The identity or age of the victim has not been positively identified at this stage, her body has been removed to the mortuary at Wexford General Hospital.

The male driver, 21, the sole occupant was uninjured in the collision.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them at Wexford Garda Station on 053 9165200, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.



In another incident in Glenmore, Kilkenny, a 22-year-old man died following a single vehicle collision at about 3am on the N25 road between Waterford and New Ross.

The driver, the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at Waterford General Hospital.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision Examination and diversions are in place.

Gardaí Appeal Over Dublin Hit-And-Run
Gardaí in Dublin have appealed for witnesses to a hit-and-run incident which caused the death of an 87-year-old man. Man Arrested In Connection With Dublin Shooting Incident

He has been detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, where he can be held for up to 72 hours.

Man Arrested Over Gun And Ammunition Seizure
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in an operation targeting organised criminal gangs in the Crumlin area of Dublin. Gardaí from Sundrive Road Garda Station arrested the man on Tuesday, 12 July, shortly after 9pm when they stopped and searched a car and its occupant close to Old County Road and discovered a firearm and ammunition.

Man Questioned Over Fatal Road Crash In Co Mayo
Garda have detained a man in connection with a fatal road crash in Co Mayo on Sunday, 08 May. A 41-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his bike collided with a van on the N26 at Ballinahaglush at around 3.45pm. A man was arrested and is being detained at Ballina Garda Station.

Woman Arrested Following Shooting Incident In Limerick
A woman has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Limerick on Monday. Christy Keane was shot a number of times in the chest and arms. He is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
