Brazilian firm Affero Lab is to create 40 new jobs in Dublin.

The e-learning firm plans to set up its European Operations Centre in the city, which will focus on research and development.

In addition, the company will employ sales and support staff to support the company's clients in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.

The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.

Martin Shanahan, CEO, IDA Ireland, said: "Ireland's e-learning cluster, particularly in the indigenous sector, is renowned for its innovation and high quality output and Affero Lab will add significantly to this cluster.

"I welcome the company's participation in the Learnovate Centre, an industry-led centre of excellence for innovation and research in learning technologies, funded by IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland.

"Affero Lab is IDA Ireland's first client from Brazil and I hope that the investment will act as a strong reference point for IDA as we work to attract more investment from this growth market."
