Irish Energy Firm Signs Deal With Brown Bag Films

Irish energy firm, Energia, has signed a deal to provide 100% 'green' energy to power Brown Bag Films' Irish studios in Smithfield Market.

Energia's operational windfarm portfolio currently supplies 795MWs of green power. This will increase by a further 300MWs of 'green' power by a number of wind farm facilities that are currently in development.

John Kennon, Technical Program Manager, Brown Bag Films, said: "At Brown Bag Films, we are determined that producing high quality animation for children should not leave a carbon burden for them to deal with as adults.

"Being conscientious about our impact on the environment is as important as creating fantastic animation. As part of our ongoing 'Green Bag' initiative, we have set ourselves the goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2017 and we believe this partnership with Energia is a vital first step."
