Gardai To Issue Fresh Appeal For Mother Of Baby Maria
Gardai are expected to issue a fresh appeal for the mother of a newborn baby found abandoned at the side of a road in Rathcoole on the outskirts of Dublin.
Child and family agency, Tusla, has been unable to find out where the baby was born despite checking with several hospitals.
The baby girl, who has been named Maria, was discovered by a couple at around 3.30pm on Friday 8 May.
The infant is being treated at Coombe Hospital and is in good health.

Public Appeal After Third Confirmed Case Of Measles In Ireland
The Public Health Agency (PHA) has announced that it has been made aware of a third confirmed case of measles in the Republic of Ireland. It is understood that the case was confirmed in a resident of Ireland who had arrived back in the country from Abu Dhabi on Saturday 9 March 2024.

The body of a newborn baby has been found in a bin in Co Cork. The discovery was made at a property in the city on Thursday after the baby's mother presented herself to gardaí, it has been reported. The body was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out.

Gardai Appeal To Mother Of Dead Baby Girl Found In Co Wicklow
Gardai have issued an appeal to the mother of a newborn baby whose body was found in a recycling depot to contact them. The body was discovered at a waste plant outside Bray in Co Wicklow on Wednesday morning. Superintendent Pat Ward, who is leading the investigation, said he is concerned for the welfare of the baby's mother.
