File Being Prepared For DPP On IRA Man Rape Allegations

Gardaí are preparing a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) over allegations that an IRA member from Northern Ireland raped two males in Co Louth in the 1990s.

Paudie McGahon, 40, has alleged that he was raped by an unnamed IRA man, in his bedroom at his family home, when he was aged 17. Since Mr McGahon has spoken out, another man has come forward claiming that he was also attacked by the same man.

According to a report by RTÉ, Garda Chief Superintendent, Pat McGee, confirmed an investigation is "ongoing" and that a file is to be sent to the DPP "in due course".
