Teacher Unions To Discuss Next Move In Junior Cycle Reforms Dispute

Teachers unions are meeting today for further talks over Junior Cycle reforms.

The latest proposed changes to the reforms, presented by mediator Pauric Travers two weeks ago, have been rejected by ASTI and the TUI.

Second level teachers are opposed to the reforms due to a stipulation that they would assess their own students work, and gives grades that would go towards the award.

The unions are meeting to discuss how to proceed in the ongoing dispute.
