Jackie Healy-Rae Dies, Aged 83

Jackie Healy-Rae has died at the age of 83.

The former Independent TD passed away at Kerry General Hospital this afternoon. It is understood his family were present at the hospital.

Mr Healy-Rae had been ill for some time.

Pensioner Dies In Co Monaghan Road Crash
A pensioner has died following a road collision in Co Monaghan. The two-vehicle incident occurred on the R188, Monaghan to Cootehill road, at Stranooden on Saturday. A passenger in one of the cars, a female aged in her 80s, was taken by ambulance to Cavan General Hospital, however she was later pronounced dead.

Man Dies In Road Accident In Co Wicklow
A man in his 20s has died in a road crash in County Wicklow. The accident, between a car and a tractor, happened at Kilpipe near Aughrim, just after 9.30am on Thursday morning. The driver of the tractor was taken to Naas General Hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be serious.
