Former Cranberries Singer Arrested On Suspicion Of Air Rage Assault

Dolores O'Riordan, the former singer with the Cranberries, has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a flight attendant.

It is understood that police were waiting for Ms O’Riordan when the flight from New York arrived at Shannon Airport at 5am on Monday morning.

According to reports the flight attendant has been taken to hospital with a suspected fractured foot.

It is alleged that around 20 minutes outside Shannon airport a passenger became disruptive and refused to return to their seat. The passenger allegedly then stamped on the foot of the flight attendant.

Reports also claim that during her arrest, Ms O’Riordan allegedly headbutted and spat at a garda officers.

Aer Lingus, the flight operator, confirmed an incident took place but refused to comment further.

An Irishman has been arrested boarding a flight from Australia following a crash in Sydney. The 22-year-old, who is understood to be from County Donegal, was detained at Sydney Airport on Monday.
