Budget 2015 Lacking 'Real Imagination' - SF

The Budget 2015 has been described as lacking "real imagination", by Sinn Féin spokesperson on Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Michael Colreavy.

Speaking in the Dáil Deputy Colreavy said the government "had choices in this budget", claiming their own figures show that the debt to GDP ratio is falling, which allows them greater leeway in their fiscal policies.

"However, the government did not make the fair choices, ones that would have assisted the most disadvantaged in society," Deputy Colreavy said.

"This budget could have been a lot better for low and middle income earners as Sinn Féin’s alternative budget has shown."

Govt Slammed Over Ongoing Housing Crisis
Sinn Féin has hit out at the government over the homeless crisis in Ireland. Deputy Michael Colreavy, Sinn Féin TD for Sligo/North Leitrim, said the government cannot just put a "band aid" over the issue and is calling for a initiative to be introduced to attempt to fix the ongoing problem.

'Solutions, Not Excuses' Needed For Trolley Crisis'
The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has been told to "stop using Brexit as an excuse" to tackling Ireland's ongoing trolley crisis. Making the call, Sinn Féin President Mary Lou McDonald said that according to INMO figures, 610 people are waiting on hospital trolleys across the state. She said: "We need solutions, not excuses, to tackle the trolley crisis.
