RTÉ Postpone Closure Of Long Wave Transmitter

The planned closure of RTÉ's long wave radio transmitter has been postponed, the broadcaster has announced.

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications was informed of the decision by RTÉ Radio's Managing Director Jim Jennings, who said it was "evident" that more time was needed to "engage with the groups affected".

The closure date has now been set as 19 January 2015.
