Gardaí Investigate Cork City Stabbing

Gardaí in Cork have appealed for information after a 41-year-old man was stabbed in the city in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The man, whose identity has not yet been released, is understood to have been found on Baker's Road in Gurranebrahter at around 2am.

He suffered stab wounds to his chest and hand and was taken to Cork University Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A technical examination of the scene was carried on Monday morning.

Gardaí say they hope to speak to the victim today, in the hope of establishing how the man was attacked.
