Appeal For Witnesses Following Serious Assault In Dublin City Centre

A 33-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital following an assault in Dublin City Centre.

Gardaí have appealed for information after a man was assaulted at about 21:30 on Thursday night on Aston Quay.

The man is being treated at St James' Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

Garda are searching for a man aged 20 to 30, described as well built, with dark hair.

It is believed the attacker was wearing a light-coloured t-shirt, a grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms. The attacker allegedly removed his hooded top and t-shirt before the attack, and put them back on after.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information, particularly those who were in the vicinity of Aston Quay/Westmoreland Street between 9.15-9.45pm last night to contact them at Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 6669000, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.

Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 24-year-old man has been found "safe and well". Alex Sherwin had been reported missing on Sunday, with garda issuing a public appeal for assistance. No information on Mr Sherwin's whereabouts have been released, but garda said the investigation had now ended. They thanked the public for their help.

Renewed Appeal For Missing Teen
Gardaí have renewed their appeal to trace 15-year-old Adam Dunne. He is described as 5ft 9in tall, of slim build with light brown hair and blue/green eyes. When last seen he was wearing a grey tracksuit bottoms, a grey hoodie top, a navy t-shirt with a grey collar and black runners.

Gardaí at Dundrum have an appeal for information about a missing man. Patrick Rochford, 69, who is from the Dundrum area, was last seen around 10pm on August 13 in the Kilmainham area of Dublin.

Two Arrested Over Aidan Myers Murder
Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Aidan Myers, gardaí have confirmed. Mr Myers, 37, was killed by a gang who had attempted to hijack the car in which he was a passenger in Faughart, Co. Louth on December 12, 2006. He died after being attacked by a machete.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To St Stephen's Green Attack
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to an assault at St. Stephen's Green West in the early hours of Sunday, 21 June. A 45-year-old man was attacked by another man at about 03:30am, suffering serious injuries. He was taken to Saint James’ Hospital and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
