Irish Man Shot Dead In Spain

A man from Dublin has been shot dead in Spain, in what has been described as a suspected gangland killing.

The victim, reported to be 45-year-old Gerard Kavanagh, was shot a number of times in the suburb of Elvirira, near Marbella. He had been socialising in Harmon's, an Irish bar in the town, on Saturday evening when the incident occurred.

It is understood two gunmen wearing balaclavas walked into the bar and fired a number of shots at Mr Kavanagh. A BMW was found near the scene, which had been burnt out.

Investigations are ongoing by the gardaí and police in Spain.

Irish Man Shot Dead In Spain
A man from Ireland has been shot dead on the Costa del Sol in Spain, it has been reported. Gary Hutch, 34, who was originally from Champions Avenue in Dublin, was a convicted Irish criminal. He had lived in Spain for the past eight years, having moved to the country following his release from prison.

Pair Found Shot Dead In Carlow Identified
Garda have identified, but will not yet name, a man and woman found shot dead in a B&B in Carlow town yesterday. The names are being withheld until after a post mortem examination is carried out. It is understood the man was 54-year-old and from Co. Offaly, and the woman, 51, was a mother of six, including triplets.
