Man Attacked At Home With Hammer and Knives
An investigation has been launched into an attack on a 23-year-old man in his home at Tower, Co Cork.
The man is in a serious condition in hospital after being attack by up to five masked men just before midnight on Tuesday.
It is understood that a brick was thrown through the man's window before he was attacked in front of his partner and four-year-old child.
Gardaí say that the man was hit with a hammer and stabbed. His condition is described as serious but not life threatening.
Gardaí at Gurranabraher and Blarney are investigating whether this attack had any connection to a separate assault two days ago in the area, during which an 18-year-old man was injured.

Gardai have launched an investigation following a suspicious fire at a house in Rhode, Co. Offaly on Monday. The incident occurred between 11.30pm on Sunday and 1.50am on Monday. A 24-year-old man sustained serious injuries and has been transferred to St James Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

Man Seriously Attacked In Co Limerick
An investigation has been launched after a man was seriously attacked in County Limerick on Monday. The incident occurred in Newcastle West at around 2.15am. The man suffered a serious head injury and is currently being treated in hospital. Gardai are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Missing Cork Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.
