Men Rescued From Sea In Co Cork

Two men are being treated in Cork University Hospital after being rescued from the sea.

It is understood that the men's boat capsized in Dunmanus Bay in Co Cork at about 19:00 on Thursday. A member of the public raised the alarm.

The men were rescued by lifeboats from Bantry and Baltimore before being airlifted from the scene to hospital the Shannon rescue helicopter.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a woman was robbed and assaulted in Co Cork. The incident happened on the Castle Road in the town of Bandon early on Sunday morning, 01 December. Investigators said she was approached by a man while walking on the route at around 3am.

Gardaí have launched a manhunt after two people were stabbed at Cork University Hospital. According to reports, it is thought the two men got into a fight with a third man on the ground of the hospital earlier today (23 October). The victims are receiving treatment at the scene, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Two Men Arrested In Relation To Murder Of Gerard Delaney
Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of Gerard Delaney in Cork last December. Mr Delaney, 51, died after an argument outside a pub in Ballyphehane on 27th December 2011. Both men arrested are believed to be in their 40s.

30 Rescued From Sinking Tall Ship Off Coast Of Cork
Some thirty people had to be rescued from a tall ship that hit rocks off the coast of Cork. It is understood that the Astrid, a 42-metre Dutch training vessel, hit rocks and began taking on water at Oysterhaven, near Kinsale, at around midday.

Man Attacked In East Cork
Gardaí are appealing for information after a man in his 40s was attacked in east Cork on Tuesday. The victim was assaulted at Meat Shambles Lane in Youhal at around 3pm. He is currently being treated at Cork University Hospital, however his injures are not believed to be life-threatening. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
