Boil Water Warning Issued In Co Clare

A warning has been issued in parts of Co Clare over tap water following the discovery of increased manganese levels in the water supply.

The alert advises residents in the Kildysart Public and Coolmeen Group Water schemes not to drink tap water until further notice and has been issued by Clare County Council, the HSE and Irish Water.

Some 1,500 residents are thought to be affected by the warning, which states that water will be supplied by tankers and that is should be boiled before use.

Water tankers will be at the Kildysart Secondary School and outside the Hilltop Bar in Coolmeen from 10am.
