Men Arrested In Connection With Serious Sexual Assault After Concert

Gardaí in Cork have arrested two men in connection with an alleged serious sexual assault, following a Jason Derulo concert in the city.

Two women, understood to be aged 18 and 19, reported to garda that they had been seriously sexually assaulted by two men they met in a nearby nightclub, following the concert.

Garda said they have arrested two men in connection with the alleged incident. They are to be questioned and undergo a forensic examination.

Three men are being held in Athlone in connection with the sexual assault of two young girls on Saturday evening. According to Gardaí, two girls, under 10 years of age, were walking home from a party when they were taken to a house and seriously sexually assaulted.

Health Minister Seeks Advice On Blood Donations From Gay Men
Minister for Health Leo Varadkar said that he is seeking advice from the Chief Medical Officer on reviewing the ban on gay men donating blood. In a statement Mr Varadkar said he favoured a deferral period – which would allow gay men to donate blood if they had not engaged in certain sexual activity during an agreed time period.
