GOAL Workers Abducted In Sudan

Irish Aid agency GOAL has reported two of its Sudanese workers "unaccounted for" after an incident occurred in the Darfur region.

The staff were abducted by an unknown group at Kutum town in North Darfur on Wednesday.

A third agency worker is also missing and a driver was also abducted but has since been released.

The staff were carrying out a routine assignment when they were abducted.

GOAL has contacted relatives of the staff members abducted.

14-Year-Old Boy Rescued Following Kidnapping In Finglas
A 14-year-old boy was rescued from the boot of a car after being abducted by a group of men. A 20-year-old man was arrested by armed gardaí officers who began chasing a vehicle driving erratically shortly after reports that a child had been abducted on Hazelcroft Road in Finglas.

Man Arrested After Woman Abducted From Her Home In Co Longford
A man has been arrested after a woman was abducted from her home in Co Longford. The incident happened near Edgeworthstown just after 4pm on Saturday. The mother-of-four was violently abducted from her home when she was looking after her children. Three other children were also in the house at the time.
