Tobacco And Equipment Seized In Dundalk

Tobacco worth an estimated €850,000 has been seized by gardaí in Dundalk, Co Louth.

Officers recovered the loose leaf tobacco in a search of a property at Proleek Ravensdale at about 07:45 on Tuesday morning.

Alongside the tobacco, garda seized empty pouches, equipment to seal pouches, alcohol labels and 60 litres of what appeared to be un-distilled alcohol.

Garda sealed the scene pending a technical examination. No one has been arrested in connection with the find.

Revenue officers have seized cigarettes, tobacco and vodka following the search of a number of premises under warrant in the Dublin area. The searches were part of an intelligence-led operation targeting the illegal sale and distribution of contraband tobacco products in Dublin. Revenue officers were assisted by members of An Garda Síochána.

Up to €100,000 in cash has been seized by Revenue Officers at Dublin Airport. On Tuesday, Officers stopped and searched a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s who were travelling to Budapest via Dusseldorf. The cash was found hidden in hand luggage.

Alcohol, Cigarettes And Cash Seized In Co Cork
Revenue officers have seized alcohol, cigarettes, cash and a vehicle during an operation in County Cork. During the search of a house near Macroom, Co. Cork, Revenue, assisted by detector dog Harvey, seized a total of 315 litres of alcohol in various stages of production along with the production apparatus, tanks and containers.

Alcohol And Cigarettes Seized In Revenue Operations
Quantities of illegal alcohol and cigarettes have been seized by Revenue Officers in two operations over the weekend. Cigarettes, branded 'Kent', 'Kent Slims', 'NZ', and 'Compliment Slims', were siezed following a search of a Romanian registered bus that disembarked a ferry from Holyhead at Dublin Port.
