HSE Launch Investigation Into Death Of Baby At Cavan Hospital

An investigation has been launched in to the death of a new born baby at Cavan General Hospital last month.

The Health Service Executive have begun the investigation to try and establish the circumstances that led to the death. According to reports, a consultant at the hospital has been placed on administrative leave.

The HSE has said that a "full and thorough investigation into this tragic event is now under way."

Investigation Launched Into Woman's Death In Cavan
Gardai have launched an investigation after the body of a woman was found in a house in Cavan. It is understood that the body of the woman, believed to be in her forties, was discovered in a house just before midnight on Saturday. The body was taken to Cavan General Hospital and the state pathologist was notified.

Three Arrested In Cork Shooting Investigation
Gardaí in Cork have arrested three men in connection with a shooting in the city on Monday night. According to gardaí a man aged in his 20s was shot a number of times by a man on a motorbike. The victim is being treated at Mercy University Hospital. Gardí have appealed for witnesses to the shooting, or any one with any information, to contact them.

HSE To Investigate Baby Death At Cavan Hospital
HSE is to carry out an investigation into the death of a baby who was born at Cavan General Hospital last week. The boy, who was delivered by Cesarean section last Thursday, was transferred to a neo-natal unit in Dublin for treatment, where he later died. The HSE has offered to support the childs parents.

Investigation Launches After Man Falls To His Death At Mater Hospital
An investigation has been launched into the death of a man who fell from the fifth floor of the Mater Hospital in Dublin on Wednesday morning. The 40-year-old died after falling into a courtyard at the hospital, on the city's North Circular Road, at about 01:00 in the early hours. He was found on the ground with extensive head and leg injuries.
